English mastery beyond the tech level

High-quality personalised

English language teaching

for IT and GameDev professionals

My story

I help IT and Gamedev professionals optimise their B1-B2-C1 non-tech English so they can communicate clearly and effectively in any setting.

When I started working with IT professionals, I thought my job was just to help them with technical English for their jobs.

Until one day when two clients told me a curious story about an incident at the hotel they were staying at. They didn’t have “enough English” to explain what the issue was, and as a result, they spent half an hour before solving the problem.

At that very moment, I realised that my clients don’t always need help with their technical English.

Sometimes they just need to solve a problem on their own, watch a nice series, succeed at a job interview, start a conversation in a pub, keep a conversation going in the office kitchen, or simply have a good laugh. In English.

As someone who has learnt a few languages along the way, I know how important it is to understand and to be understood, how good it feels when you can say what you mean, and how great it is not to be limited by language barriers.

I believe that confidence in English should go beyond explaining code architecture or game design.

I believe that you deserve to feel as comfortable discussing your weekend plans as you do leading meetings.

That’s why I launched EnglishBeyondCode—to help tech professionals like you communicate confidently, naturally, and without limits.

What my clients say
A little about me
  • When I was younger, I always knew I’d be a teacher.

And now I've been teaching English for more than 15 years and working with IT and GameDev professionals like you for over a decade.

🏘 I’m based in sunny Barcelona, which became my second home 7 years ago.

🎹 I’m a music enthusiast (ready to talk about it for hours on end).

🗣 I'm a language nerd, and I love learning languages (next challenge: Irish Gaelic!).

🎱 In my free time you can find me dancing, playing pool, or getting in on a fun pub quiz.

📚 My background is in English, teaching, linguistics, and multiculturalism.

  • I’ve had the privilege to teach in various settings and different countries and to work with people of different ages and distinct language levels.

What it’s like to work with me
Let's break out of the ‘tech-only’ zone so you can communicate with confidence in any situation.
Your commitment
To benefit from working together, see results, and maximise the investment of your resources,
be ready to:
  • 🕒 Put in the work regularly
Consistent, focused practice improves performance, which leads to progress. So focus on sessions, self-study tasks, and work independently between sessions.
  • 🌍 Try out new vocabulary, phrases, skills, and strategies in real-life situations
Meetings, emails, code reviews with teammates, or casual chats: real life is where you notice your progress.
  • 🎧 Review notes, revisit material, and keep in touch with English daily
Listen to podcasts, read articles and books, watch series, write down your thoughts, as even small but consistent exposure to the language makes a big difference.
  • 🔁 Stay committed and patient
Language growth doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, and it’s achievable.
  • 🎉 Celebrate your wins
Each ‘a-ha’ moment and ‘I can’t believe I did it!’ helps your confidence grow step by step.
  • 😁 Enjoy the process
Learning should be fun, and it definitely helps you move forward.
